DEPTHS IN GOD

In my spiritual journey, I realised later than usual that there were depths in God. For better words, these are adventures in God that need to be explored to their utmost. And that God had so many facets, sides, surfaces to Him and that He will be found if you seek him.

Romans 11:33

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!”

I thought to myself that if I were to be taken to the depths of God for every day I have lived on earth and the remaining days I have to live; it would not be enough to fully explore who God is or find Him in His totality, for His ways are so unfathomable.

In different levels and times of our lives we have limited God to the needs of the moment. Yes, He is a God that provides, prospers, protects and heals and more but even in these listed dimensions which seems popular in our times, if we truly delve in, using the scriptures and the help of the Precious Holy Spirit to bring understanding and illumination to these aspects of God, we would come to the revelation of God in these dimensions; then would we live and settle in this reality forever.

I have always known that there was more to God than the physical and materials things that He gives us. I also came to understand that most of God’s children have labored all through their lives from the outer court of God’s presence, and have worshipped and prayed to Him in the flesh, oblivious of the true meaning of deep spirituality in God but have mistook religiosity for spirituality.

John 4:24

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

How would we come to the depth and revelation of who God truly is if we do not seek Him in Spirit? And do not move past the outer court and come to His Holy Presence; the Holy of Holies? How do we get there, if we are religious? How do we come to this revelation if we are not intentional in our search for God? How can we even begin if we do not study the scriptures? His Word?

As the Lenten period begins, let’s understand repentance to not just mean turning from sins, but also a turning towards Jesus. A deliberate time to embark on this search to explore Jesus in at least one dimension.

In my journey, I have encountered God as a Helper: The One who helps me.

Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength,

A very present HELP in trouble”

Hebrews 4: 15–16

“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of Grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace of HELP in time of need.”

Deutronomy 33:26

“There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to HELP you, and in His excellency on the clouds.”

These scriptures are a reality for me. I have a revelation of the Help of God and I have now come to walk in this reality. I am never stuck in any situation, I am never desperate for anything, I could cry but God rides the heavens to HELP me. God has really HELPED me. I am not going to stop my exploration of Him, as I have other realities of Him I want to walk in, so I will get in the scriptures through the Help of the sweet Holy spirit to be able to live in them.

Lord Jesus, teach me to know you. Give me the grace to explore and come to an indepth knowledge of You. Amen
